Kevin Wilkin takes his team to Leamington for the Boxing Day fixture with a 3pm kick-off at the New Windmill Ground.
Brackley go into the game after the home draw against AFC Telford, a 91st Glenn Walker goal levelling after The Bucks had taken a first half lead through a penalty. Leamington meanwhile won well at Tamworth lifting them several places to 14th in the league table.
The last time the two sides met was New Year’s Day 2014 when 7th placed Saints lost 3-1. The sides had drawn 1-1 at SJP in the Boxing Day match with 11th placed Leamington’s Stefan Moore netting for The Brakes before Brett Solkhon equalised and in the return fixture Moore again did the damage scoring twice with Charlie Griffin getting one back before the interval before Ricky Johnson extended Leamington’s lead on an afternoon of appalling weather conditions as wind and rain battered the Harbury Lane ground.
There have been plenty of connections between the teams over the years and The Brakes’ current squad has three players who have worn the Brackley Town shirt: Joe Magunda, Joe Clarke and Junior English.
The Brakes then return to St James Park on New Year’s Day for the return fixture (kick-off 3pm).
